We are shifting our focus from honoring mothers to focusing on fathers with Father’s Day being right around the corner.

According to WebMD, “Men die at higher rates than women for all of the top 10 causes of death. Why don't men take better care of their health? These conditions are: heart disease, cancer, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, accidents, pneumonia and influenza, diabetes, suicide, kidney disease, and chronic liver disease, and cirrhosis.”
 
“Men also die younger than women. In 1920, women outlived men only by one year. Today, CDC figures show the life expectancy gap has widened: On average, women survive men by over five years.”
 
Since we value and honor the men in our lives and our community, we want to Focus on Fathers (and really, all men!) and encourage them to get the screenings necessary to ensure better health. We will have a special gift for all who attend, and an extra gift to encourage the men in our community to focus on their health.
 
Please join us for some good food, great fellowship, and some fun. Though this is a family friendly event, please know that beer and wine will be served. We look forward to seeing old friends again and meeting new ones!
