Cedar Independent School District

The mission of Cedar Hill I.S.D., in partnership with parents and cooperation with the community, is to educate and produce graduates who are fully enabled to successfully engage as responsible and contributing members of our rapidly changing society. The Cedar Hill I.S.D. is a premier 6A district. It consists of 14 schools and serves over 8,100 students, grades K-12.

Private Schools

Residents may also choose from a number of quality private grade schools and high schools that accept from ages 3 through 12th grade. Cedar Hill also has a number of private institutions. They include Trinity Christian School, Village Tech and Dallas Life, which all have exceptional academic programs and are tuition-free.

Northwood University

Northwood University is located in the wooded hills near Lake Joe Pool on a beautiful 350 acre campus at 1114 West 1382 in Cedar Hill. At Northwood is a business management college offering four year Bachelor of Business Administration degrees and two year associates degrees. Programs include automotive marketing, accounting, marketing, international business, hotel and restaurant management, fashion marketing, advertising and general business courses.

Cedar Valley College

Cedar Valley Center at Cedar Hill opened in 2003. The center is a satellite campus of Cedar Valley Community College which is a part of the Dallas County Community College District. The center will be offering a variety of college classes and community education classes.

UNT Dallas

UNT Dallas is a small urban public university, which began in 2000 as a extension of the University of North Texas, offering upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses; in 2009 it became a free-standing university, offering a full undergraduate program as well as graduate work. Enrollment at the UNT Dallas Campus is certified by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
